Meant primarially for beginners and experienced novices (like myself) this blog is an informal, sometimes satiric, exploration of the steel combat helmet and its role in identifying, inspiring, and protecting the G.I.s of various nations over the past 100 years. This is the book I thought I'd like to write but with a longer shelf-life, no editors, publishers, or art directors; just me and you.

The Problem with Antique Malls: the movie
I think all serious helmet collectors can relate to this one:
hey mannie,,,how much was the helmet!!!,,,lol,,nice video,,,i can find lots of helmets at the malls,,the usual problem that i encounter is not that they are over priced, but mis-identified,i can find some good prices still, but i do ocassionally run across one of those "BOINGGGG" PRICES,,,robert

ReplyDeleteRobert,
ReplyDeleteAs I recall that very garden variety M1, a 35 dollar helmet was priced at $125.00
Recently I saw a $30.00 Spanish helmet at a gun shop priced for $165.00. Not THAT"S a "boing" reaction every time.
